Our favorite sons from back-in-the-day kcore have graced us with a new record! Maybe These are the Breaks is perhaps their best effort to date and an amazing return to form for the dudes who have been spending time traveling the world in their other bands Still Flyin' and Night Moves Gold. The album comes out October 4th on kindercore/Magic Marker and will be available on CD and Vinyl in addition to the electronic verison. Check out the summer jam "Jim Belushi" and get ready to have your pop craving smushed by the sweet sounds of the Masters.

Ruby Isle was up for the title track for the new Arthur remake that is coming out tomorrow. SPOILER ALERT! We didn't get it...

Up until yesterday we didn't have rights to the track, but the kind folks at Warner Brothers gave it back to us and we are dying to share it with you. It is actually my favorite Ruby Isle cover and believe me, we have done a lot!!!

For those unfamiliar with the song, it was originally done by Christopher Cross for the original 1981 movie starring Dudley Moore. It is an awesome yacht rock jam and perhaps the best part of it is the literal lyrics that basically tell the story of the original movie. We stayed pretty true to this one unlike the Guns N' Roses album we just did and tried to preserve the yachty-goodness with a touch of electronica.

I am both excited and scared about the new remake featuring Russell Brand. I really like him, but I also REALLY like the original movie. Anyway, I'll be paying to get in just like everyone else.

Kindercore is confused to announce that Ruby Isle's song for song remake of Guns N' Roses' "Appetite for Destruction" has been removed from online music outlets and record stores and will no longer be available for purchase online or anywhere. Just in time, Ruby Isle is scheduled to play a release show for Appetite at The Triple Rock Social Club in Minneapolis, MN on Saturday, January 29th.

No copies of the record will be availalble at the release party.

New stuff, iTunes, vinyl, cds... oh my!

It looks like Ruby Isle's Appetite for Destruction has hit the iTunes store. Gotta love the comments the metal heads are making. Just what we were hoping for!!! The Gold Party EP is arriving next week on CD with wonderful packaging designed by Kim Kirby and a Remix from Feral Youth. And last but certainly not least, the Grape Soda vinyl is on its way too! Can't wait, 2011 should be fun!!!

New site, New Announcements

Along with the new site we have a ton of new records coming out. Starting with Ruby Isle's long-in-the-works-cover-to-cover tribute to Guns N' Roses' Appetite for Destruction. Entitled "Appetite for Destruction", it is a complete reworking of the GNR classic with electropop production. It combines the best of the 80s with the, um... best of the 80s? By the way, this isn't a joke, just look at the awesome cover designed by Chris Bilheimer!

Next up is the full-length debut by GRAPE SODA!. Ryan's new band with his brother Mat. Imagine Quasi with Mat singing and without all the drama, then add a bunch of samples and a whole lotta reverb. Its very nice.

Following this is the debut EP from Dan's new band The Gold Party. It's kinda like I am the World Trade Center, but with a tall skinny guy singing named Benji Barton from the NYC band Boulevard. In fact all the guys in the band are really tall except Dan. This makes him really self conscious. It also has a lot more 90s britpop in it than IATWTC did, but it does have the 80s vibe from Dan's old duo. This stuff is epic.

Finally, there is a top secret new release from one of kindercore's original finest. Some of you may already have heard about it, but I think we are supposed to be quiet about it. Here is a hint; Dan and/or Ryan are/is not in this band. Also, they used to sing about dogs and airlungs.

Welcome to our new site (again). It seems like we end up doing this every couple of years because we get lazy/disorganized. We have made this site as dumb as possible. So dumb it can even run on an iphone (its actually just a blog but you probably figured that out). We have a bunch of new stuff coming out so we thought we would make this site useful again. Just for fun, here is the kindercore resurrection image. It seems like we have done this before...
